MOSCOW, October 6 – RIA Novosti. A company producing therapeutic compression hosiery has received resident status of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone (SEZ), which gives the right to enjoy tax benefits, said Maxim Liksutov, deputy mayor for transport and industry.
“On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we continue the consistent development of the medical industry in the capital. An effective tool for supporting enterprises producing modern medical devices is to assign them the status of a resident of the Moscow SEZ. Such companies are completely exempt from paying property, transport and land taxes, and the income tax rate for them has been reduced to 2%,” the press service of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ quotes Liksutov as saying.
He added that this allows the business to use savings to update lines and expand the range. The new resident produces a wide range of hospital and medical compression hosiery. The volume of investment in the project exceeded 300 million rubles, over 25 jobs were created.
The press service clarified that since the launch of the technological lines, the Elastic Technologies enterprise has already produced more than 100 thousand units of medical compression stockings, knee socks and tights. The production process contains knitting technology and special materials that make it possible to create products with precisely specified parameters of graduated compression. The resident’s products will replace medical compression products that were previously supplied from Switzerland, Turkey and China.
The company launched the issue with the assistance of the Moscow Fund for the Support of Industry and Entrepreneurship, which compensates for part of the enterprise’s interest payments under loan agreements. Launching full-cycle production of medical compression products is a capital-intensive project: the main costs fall on high-tech knitting equipment.
Sobyanin declared October 2026 the month of Moscow industry. The program includes more than 25 events for business, students, young professionals, city residents and tourists. The capital will host the Moscow Investment and Industrial Forum, Career Day, dynasty awards ceremony, as well as over 20 excursions to modern high-tech production sites and open lectures.
