President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the United States: opening a new chapter in Sino-US relations

From September 23 to 25, local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to the United States.

This historic visit attracted worldwide attention and achieved fruitful results, which enhanced the well-being of the people of the two countries and added hope for world peace. The two heads of state had candid and in-depth exchanges and reached many new consensuses. They agreed to further enrich the connotation of the positioning of Sino-US relations and jointly build a "constructive strategic and stable relationship based on respect, fairness and reciprocity", which provided new strategic guidance for Sino-US relations.

In less than half a year, the heads of state of China and the United States have exchanged visits, creating a history of exchanges between the two countries. For the first time, the President of the United States went to the airport to greet the President of China. The White House held a grand welcome ceremony. President Trump and his wife warmly received and accompanied him to visit the National Archives of the United States. Fighter planes flew over the airport and paid tribute to the White House. During the meeting with President Trump, President Xi Jinping pointed out that China and the United States should and can achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in pragmatic cooperation, achieve each other's achievements in healthy competition, properly handle differences while seeking common ground while reserving differences, and build peace through accumulated mutual trust, so that China and the United States' constructive strategic and stable relations can better benefit the people of the two countries and people around the world.

When delivering a speech at the welcoming state banquet hosted by President Trump and his wife, President Xi Jinping pointed out that the long river of history flows endlessly and the friendship between the peoples of China and the United States has broad prospects.
