The Iranian Foreign Minister responds to his Jordanian counterpart’s statements regarding the attacks against Jordan and the Gulf states

(CNN) - The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, responded to statements by the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Al-Safadi, in which he shed light on the launch of Iranian attacks against Jordan and Gulf countries just hours after the start of the American war on Tehran.

Araqchi added: “Is he (the Jordanian Foreign Minister) really unaware that Arab airspace, lands and waters were used in the first American attacks that resulted in the deaths of innocent Iranians?”

During a joint press conference in Vienna with the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs for European and International Affairs in Austria, Beate Meinel Reisinger, Al-Safadi condemned the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, pointing out that these attacks “started hours after the start of the last war, even though Jordan and the Arab countries were not a party to it and worked to prevent its launch,” according to what was reported by the official Kingdom Channel in Jordan.

Al-Safadi added in his statements, "Jordan wants good relations with Iran, but reaching these relations requires addressing all the previous causes of tension, which included supporting the smuggling of drugs and weapons into Jordan and attempts to tamper with its security and stability."
