台達電表示,公司在蘇格蘭布局工程研發業務已近30年,當地據點目前已發展成為工業移動事業(Industrial Mobility Business)的重要工程研發中心,團隊主要負責開發工業電動車使用的下一代電力轉換技術,因應物料搬運、倉儲自動化及物流等領域需求。

在產品布局方面,蘇格蘭研發團隊涵蓋電機、機械工程、韌體開發、印刷電路板(PCB)布局、自動化測試工程及產品與專案管理等領域,目前開發產品包括高效率電池充電系統、充電模組及直流轉直流(DC-DC)轉換器。
台達電指出,目前研發方向包括提高產品功率密度、簡化製造流程及提升成本效益,以支援客戶下一代電動車平台;隨著新據點啟用,也將進一步強化當地產品研發及驗證能力。
