During the three-day National Day holiday this year from October 9 to 11, Kaohsiung City will hold Zuoying Ten Thousand Years Season, Love River Hot Air Balloon, Dog Fighting Festival and other activities. It is expected that there will be an influx of people and cars. At that time, traffic control measures will be implemented at important scenic spots and event venues according to traffic conditions. The Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau calls on the public to check the traffic information and alternative roads at scenic spots before traveling, and try to use public transportation to avoid traffic jams that affect their enjoyment.
The "2026 Kaohsiung Zuoying Ten Thousand Years Season" will hold markets, fire lion performances and other activities around Lianchitan from October 7th to 11th. The entrance of Liantan Road (from Shengli Road intersection to Mingtan Road intersection) and Zuoyingxia (New) Road leading to Liantan Road will be closed to vehicles from 2 pm to 10 pm every day. The "2026 Kaohsiung Love Moon Hot Air Balloon" will be held from Moon World to Love River from October 9 to 11 during the National Day holiday. Depending on the flow of people and traffic on site, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Hexi Road and Dacheng Street, and will be adjusted to pedestrian areas. The Transportation Bureau reminds that parking space around the event venue is limited. It is recommended to take the light rail to C10 Guangrong Pier Station and C11 True Love Pier Station, or take the MRT to O2 Yanchengpu Station and O4 Qianjin Station to participate.
Many music performances are also held along the Kaohsiung Bay during the National Day holiday, including the "Takao Rock Dog Fighting Festival" held at the Kaohsiung Pop Music Center from October 10 to 31, and the "2026 Kaohsiung Park Music Festival" held for the first time at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from October 9 to 10. Considering that the public transportation services at the event site are very convenient, music fans are recommended to use the light rail and MRT to get there.
In terms of parent-child tourism, the "Kaohsiung Parent-Child Amusement Park" transformed by the Taiwan Railways Kaohsiung Locomotive Plant is adjacent to the Kaohsiung Light Rail "Kaixuan Wuchang Station". It is a 1-minute walk to the park after getting off. In addition, bus No. 100 can also reach the "Railway Locomotive Plant" station on Wuqing Road; during holidays, an additional 100 shuttle bus runs from "Ruifeng Station" to "Dayuan 100 Department Store (MRT Sanduo Business District Station)", stopping at the Kaohsiung Parent-Child Amusement Park.
