Zakharova responded to Tokyo's demand to remove the Victory Monument in Khabarovsk

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia, Maria Zakharova, commented on RIA Novosti on Tokyo’s demands to remove the Victory Monument in Khabarovsk, dedicated to the defeat of militaristic Japan.

“All that remains is to demand that the wind not blow and the sun not shine,” the diplomat said.

According to her, Japan treats history with disdain, and this disease should not spread.

Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said that Russia should dismantle the memorial to the USSR victory over Japan, installed in Khabarovsk, since the installation of a monument depicting the destruction of the coat of arms with the chrysanthemum, recognized as the symbol of Japan, is absolutely unacceptable.
