A fire broke out at the Taiwan Panasonic Multilayer Materials Factory in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County early yesterday morning, and another residential fire broke out on Dehe Road late at night. Five people were trapped at one point, but they were all rescued in the end. Three of them were injured or unwell and sought medical treatment.

The Hsinchu County Fire Department said that after receiving the report at 10:15 on the night of the 4th, it immediately dispatched 10 vehicles and 22 people from the 3rd Brigade, Hukou, Xingong, Xinfeng, Yamazaki and other detachments, as well as 21 volunteers. When they arrived at the scene, they found that 5 people were trapped on the balconies of two households on the fifth floor.

The Hukou detachment found that flames were shooting out from the fourth floor. The owner of the house had escaped on his own, and five people were trapped on the fifth floor. Firefighters deployed water lines and went directly to the fourth floor to put out the fire and exhaust smoke. The supporting firefighters simultaneously launched rescue operations and rescued all the trapped persons.

The fire was extinguished at 10:55 in the middle of the night. One of the rescued persons was slightly injured and the other two were unwell and were sent to Hukou Renren Hospital for examination and treatment. The exact cause of the fire still needs to be investigated and clarified.

The Fire Department reminds you that in the unfortunate event of a fire in your home, stay calm and do not risk escaping through thick smoke. If the stairwell is full of smoke and it is impossible to escape safely, you should choose a relatively safe indoor space, close the door to block the smoke, and call 119 to inform the trapped location to facilitate rescue by firefighters.
