Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the high-level dialogue on the fifth anniversary of the Global Development Initiative

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, September 26. On September 25, the high-level dialogue on the fifth anniversary of the Global Development Initiative was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the dialogue.

Xi Jinping pointed out that development is the eternal theme of human society and the key to realizing people's happiness. Five years ago, I proposed the global development initiative at the United Nations General Assembly to promote international development cooperation, reinvigorate global development, and help accelerate the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Xi Jinping emphasized that over the past five years, with the joint efforts of all parties, the Global Development Initiative has been widely implemented, and initiative cooperation projects have taken root and blossomed in more than 120 countries, writing a new chapter of joint promotion of development and win-win cooperation.

Xi Jinping pointed out that at present, the world's changes in a century are accelerating, and people of all countries have an even stronger desire to achieve development. As the largest developing country and a member of the Global South, China is willing to work with all parties to uphold the people-centered development concept, jointly promote the deepening and implementation of global development initiatives, transform the beautiful vision of the Sustainable Development Goals into a tangible and tangible reality, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
