5 pistols and 6 shotguns were found... ISIS operation in 8 provinces: 39 detained

Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the police started work against the ISIS terrorist organization in 8 provinces. The teams took action simultaneously in Kahramanmaraş, Istanbul, Ankara, Konya, Zonguldak, Adana, Hatay and Gaziantep.

While 39 people were detained during the raids, 5 pistols, 6 shotguns and many digital materials were seized.

In the statement made by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that an operation was carried out by the Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate against the suspects who were found to have carried out organizational activities within the organization that adopted the takfir salafist view and participated in activities such as alternative Friday prayers, in the investigation initiated within the scope of the crime of being a member of the armed terrorist organization ISIS.

STATEMENT FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE

The statement stated that the operation was carried out in 8 provinces in the morning and said:

"Simultaneous judicial search and seizure operations were carried out in order to capture 40 suspicious persons identified in Kahramanmaraş, Istanbul, Ankara, Konya, Zonguldak, Adana, Hatay and Gaziantep. As a result of the judicial proceedings, 39 suspects were caught and taken into custody, and 1 suspect was determined to be abroad. As a result of the search and seizure operations carried out at the suspects' homes and workplaces; 34 mobile phones, 33 SIM cards, 8 laptop, 4 tablets, 1 notebook, 1 computer case, 3 hard disks, 5 memory cards, 2 USB sticks, 13 notebooks, 84 books considered to be banned publications, 5 guns, 251 gun cartridges, 6 shotguns, 123 shotgun cartridges, 2 swords and 2 knives were seized and confiscated.”

The proceedings against the detained suspects are continuing.
