Dongfeng Express' "Only One Time" limited road run, 5,000 people rushed in first

The Dongfeng Expressway section from Dongshi to Shigang is about to open to traffic. The Taichung City Sports Bureau launched the Dongfeng Express Road Run Carnival today, attracting nearly 5,000 runners to run on the Dongfeng Express to experience a "only once" limited road run and witness the new page of transportation construction.

Taichung City Construction Director Chen Datian pointed out that Dongfeng Express has a total expenditure of nearly 20 billion yuan, of which 11 billion yuan is sought for central subsidies. The total length is 9.6 kilometers and is divided into 5 tender sections. In order to accelerate the construction of a safe and convenient "mountain city life rescue line", the Dongshi to Shigang section project has been prioritized and has entered the final stage. It is expected to be partially completed this year and opened to traffic first. The whole project is moving towards the goal of completing the entire line and opening to traffic in 2029.

The Taichung City Sports Bureau today launched the Dongfeng Speed ​​Run Carnival, which is divided into 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers. It takes into account the participation of people of different ages and sports levels. It is open "for once only" and attracted nearly 5,000 people to sign up.

The Sports Bureau pointed out that runners headed all the way from Dongshiduan towards Shigang, enjoying a rare road running experience. Along the way, they can enjoy the scenery along the Dajia River and the Liyu Back Bridge and other unique landscapes. Through this journey, they can also witness the results of major transportation construction from planning and construction to the upcoming opening to traffic. In addition, the event site also provides local famous products of the mountain city, allowing runners to enjoy the fun of sports and feel the local characteristics.
