Breaking News... Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer resigned from YENİ Party

Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candan Yüceer announced that she resigned from the NEW Party membership.

Yüceer, who published a long statement on his social media account, listed the discussions at his party's provincial congress and the fact that he was not shown as a delegate to the congress among the reasons for his decision to resign.

Yüceer said, "As of today, I am resigning from the New Party of which I am a member," and argued that his political struggle was never based on personal gain or seeking office.

Candan Yüceer's full statement:

"As of today, I am resigning from the New Party of which I am a member.

I didn't do politics to calculate seats.

My struggle has never been a struggle for personal success.

However, I am saddened to see that today some people are caught up in the calculation of their own personal fortune, position and position.

Finally, I do not find it acceptable that the agenda of the provincial congress was turned into a discussion about congress delegateship during a period when I was in a sick bed, and that the congress was not started due to these discussions, and that I was not even registered as a congress delegate.

The issue here is not who is or isn't on a delegate list.

The issue is the respect that should be shown to people who have struggled together for years.

The issue is the law of companionship.

The issue is the political courtesy that should be shown to an elected Metropolitan Mayor.

The issue is how the people we walk with treat each other.

This is not the loyalty I expect, this is not the companionship I seek.

I do not belong to an understanding where the law of companionship is violated so easily and personal interests are prioritized over common values.

My priority and responsibility are very clear: Tekirdağ.

What I think about when I wake up every morning is which problem of Tekirdağ we will solve, which investment we will complete, which project we will implement.

Our citizens living in our 11 districts expect service from us.

Infrastructure is waiting, roads are waiting, water is waiting, social support is waiting.

Tekirdağ does not have a day to lose.

My priority is not political showdowns, but service to Tekirdağ, Tekirdağ's pending problems, ongoing investments and the promises we make to our people.

I prefer to spend my energy on the future of the city.

Our struggle, our path, our priority is to make Tekirdağ a stronger, fairer, more livable city.

I came to this position to serve Tekirdağ.

We will continue on our way with our heads held high, our foreheads open, and the awareness of our responsibility towards our fellow citizens.

And I will continue to work for Tekirdağ with all my strength, with my love for Tekirdağ and my responsibility to serve this beautiful city.
