Racing Santander defeated its guest Deportivo Alaves 2-1, on Saturday, in the fifth round of the Spanish Football League.
Racing raised its score to seven points in eighth place, on goal difference behind Atletico Madrid, which is in seventh place.
On the other hand, Deportivo Alaves' score froze at ten points in second place in the standings.
Alaves took the lead through Phil Koski in the 18th minute, before young Moroccan Yasser Zubiri equalized for Racing in the 38th minute.
In the 53rd minute, Racing scored the second goal through Zuberi again, giving his team the three points.
