Surenjab Ulambayar wins gold medal at Muju World Para Taekwondo Grand Prix Women's 52kg class

Surenjab Ulambayar (Mongolia), gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, took the top spot in the Muju Taekwondowon 2026 World Para Taekwondo Grand Prix Series.

Surenjav, ranked No. 1 in the world, won the gold medal by defeating Ana Jafaridze (Georgia), ranked No. 2 in the world, with a round score of 2-0 (4-3 10-0) in the finals of the women's 52kg class (sports grade K44) held at the Taekwondowon T1 Stadium in Muju, Jeollabuk-do on the 4th.

In this competition, in which 210 athletes from 29 countries participated, G6 ranking points, which are reflected in the competition for qualification to the 2028 Los Angeles (LA) Paralympic Games, were at stake.

Korea had a total of 8 participants, 6 men and 2 women, but failed to produce any winners, with Joo Jeong-hoon (Chuncheon City Disabled Sports Association) and Lee Pyeong-gang (Wonju City Hall) eliminated in the quarterfinals.
