Deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation will introduce a bill to the State Duma to double the indexation of pensions

Deputies of the Communist Party faction are introducing a bill to the State Duma proposing to double the indexation of insurance pensions. Lenta.ru reviewed the text of the document.

It is reported that currently the size of the insurance pension is subject to annual indexation on February 1 to the consumer price growth index. At the same time, the document says, many citizens note that prices for housing and communal services and essential products are growing slightly higher than the official inflation rate. Thus, many recipients of insurance pensions feel a decline in their standard of living, the bill states.

The authors of the initiative propose to increase the size of the insurance pension at a rate faster than inflation, namely, to annually index the payment by twice the size of the consumer price growth index.

“Our bill introduces this amendment both to the law “On Insurance Pensions”, according to which the size of the pension of the majority of Russian pensioners is calculated, and to the law “On State Pension Provision in the Russian Federation”, so that the pensions of federal civil servants, pensions of military personnel and members of their families and social pensions are indexed in the same way,” commented one of the authors of the bill, State Duma deputy Yuri Afonin.
