Nike All-Asia Basketball Training Camp Concludes in Beijing, Ding Yanyuhang Experiences Assistant Coach Work

On June 14th, the 2026 Nike All-Asia Basketball Training Camp came to an end in Beijing's Shougang Park. Ding Yanyuhang, a former member of the Chinese men's basketball team, experienced the work of an assistant trainer at the training camp. He described the difference in styles between Chinese and foreign coaches.

This training camp opened on June 10, with a total of 60 players in the men's group and 30 players in the women's group. Top young athletes under the age of 18 from Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia and other countries and regions exchanged and discussed with Chinese team members.

As for the coaching team, this lineup combines Chinese and Western skills and has rich qualifications. Dave Severns, the current college scout of the NBA Indiana Pacers, serves as the training camp director. The women's team is led by Danielle Viglione, former director of player development for the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. Not only that, this coaching team also welcomed retired NBA player Jason Williams, who imparted valuable experience to the young guards.

The Chinese coaching team includes Chinese Basketball Hall of Fame coach Wang Fei as a training camp consultant, and Ding Yanyuhang as an assistant trainer.

In March this year, Ding Yanyuhang officially announced his retirement. He introduced that he has recently tried coaching work and the experience in the training camp is very valuable. "I may also contribute to Chinese basketball in the youth basketball field in the future."

After several days of special training, the best lineups for men and women in this training camp have been released. The best lineup of the women's team includes: He Siyao, Zhao Zirui, Chen Yuxin, Sun Ruiyang, Tiffany Anne Ablan Reyes. The women's MOP (Most Outstanding Player) award was won by Eden Catip. The best lineup of the men's team is: Liu Xuanyu, Shi Minghao, Zhang Yi, Zhao Jie, Chuson Jakku Shiratani, Lu Feiyan, and the MOP is Zhao Boxin.

The athletes gave full play to what they learned in the training camp in the All-Star Game on the 14th and tried their best to win on the court. Zhang Yi and Zhao Jie, who won the MVP of the All-Star Game, said that he gained a lot from Chinese and foreign coaches in the training camp.
