Hsinchu County promotes resource recycling. Last year, Hsinchu County was assessed by the Ministry of Environment and received excellent recognition in three categories: "Resource Circulation Performance Assessment", "Assessment Implementation Plan for Administrative Agencies and Schools to Reduce the Use of Disposable Tableware and Packaged Drinking Water", and "Environmental Protection and Good City Promotion Award". As a result, the county's resource recycling rate climbed to 57.84%, a significant increase of 3.3% from the previous year.
In addition, in the evaluation of township and municipal offices, Xinpu, Beipu, Baoshan and Zhubei also received excellent results. Xinpu focuses on subdivided management, Zhubei introduces occupational safety certification of cleaning teams and smart recycling machines, Beipu targets tourist crowds and promotes aging, and Baoshan strictly implements bag-breaking inspections. The management methods of various places that adapt to local conditions have been recognized by the central government.

County Mayor Yang Wenke said that in addition to a number of innovative reduction measures, the county government has banned disposable tableware and bottled water in public departments and schools in recent years, and has guided the public retail market in Xionglin to implement plastic reduction. This is an important highlight of this recognition. The Environmental Protection Bureau pioneered the LINE smart robot "Bamboo County Recycling Frozen Check" system. By entering the name of an item, the public can check the correct classification steps and graphic instructions for more than 1,400 items. This system integrates garbage removal information, village resource collection stations (urban bee collection stations), maintenance maps, legal recyclers and other information, and is a powerful assistant for villagers' daily recycling.
They are also the first in the country to promote plastic reduction and circular living. They work with Tinker Bell Science Theme Park to promote the rental of recycling cups, and fully introduce recycling cups for water supply in local road running events. They also provide guidance on the establishment of recycling tableware and shopping bag rental stations in 16 markets, night markets, and business districts in the county to cultivate people's plastic reduction habits.
The "Renovate Old Good City Repair Station" located in Zhubei's Xinguo Community provides repair services for small household appliances, toys and clothing. It also works with local companies and the "Old Shoes Life Saving Association" to raise 3,107 pairs of used shoes to send to Africa; this is all to promote the recycling and reuse of second-hand items.
