The 5th Hong Kong International Philanthropy Forum opens with sports champions sharing philanthropic experiences

China News Service, Hong Kong, September 7 (Reporters Zhao Jingyi and Liu Yueqing) The fifth Hong Kong International Charity Forum hosted by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust opened in Hong Kong on the 7th. Table tennis Olympic champion Deng Yaping, gymnastics Olympic champion Li Xiaopeng and short track speed skating Olympic champion Yang Yang and other sports representatives attended the event. They combined their own experiences to share how they extended their achievements on the field to the field of charity.

Chan Kwok-kee, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, pointed out in his opening speech that Hong Kong is committed to building a global philanthropy center and serving as a bridge between the East and the West. Li Xiaopeng mentioned that sports are not just about winning, but getting over failures and difficulties is equally important, and emphasized that we must learn to respect our opponents. Yang Yang said that sports itself is a social tool that can be adapted and connected to multiple public welfare fields such as children's education, environmental protection, and gender equality.
