港務公司董事長周永暉表示，高雄港為台灣最大的國際商港，眾多大型航商進駐、國際航線密集，搭配洲際二期石化及能源產業基礎，已具備發展多元船舶燃料加注服務的良好條件，加注服務選擇以高雄港為起點，於今日正式啟動生質燃油加注服務。

中油董事長方振仁表示，中油率先在高雄港推出B24生質燃油，後續將逐步的在台中以及基隆港推動；他說，B24生質燃油相較於原來的低碳燃油，可以減少至少20%的碳排，重要的是，此燃油也取得國際永續性與碳認證（ISCC EU），中油會提供證明文件給加注航商，在世界各國都能夠呈現出來我國航運的減碳效果。

港務公司表示，高雄港在各大航商積極響應下，陽明海運、萬海航運及中鋼運通旗下船舶陸續進行生質燃油加注，加注量已達1200公噸；今日陽明海運所屬結明輪除進行加注生質燃油外，同時於靠港作業期間接用岸電，降低靠港作業的燃油使用及碳排放。
