Building collapsed in Satya Niketan area of Delhi, many people feared buried

A building collapsed in Satya Niketan area of ​​Delhi on Sunday afternoon. The accident happened near the Shiva temple located in Moti Bagh. Many people are suspected to be buried under the debris of the building.

According to news agency ANI, Delhi Fire Department received information about the building collapse at around 1.30 pm. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade teams reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations.

At present, efforts are being made to rescue the people trapped under the debris.

Official information about how many people have been affected in the accident has not been revealed yet.

Congress' student organization NSUI has expressed apprehension that many students of Delhi University may be buried under the debris of the building.

NSUI wrote in a post on X, "The news of the building collapse in Satya Niketan near the South Campus of Delhi University is very worrying. There are reports that DU students are trapped under the debris."

The DU administration and government should immediately launch relief and rescue operations on a war footing, evacuate every student and individual, and conduct an impartial investigation into the incident and hold those responsible accountable."
