President Iwao Yoshino (59) was originally an employee of a major trading company that handled chemicals. He was in charge of trading petroleum raw materials transported by large tankers, but in 2000, 10 years after joining the company, he left the company and went to study at a business school in the United States.

At the time, Google, which had started up in the United States just a few years earlier, had created one of the world's largest search engines and was also starting an advertising business. I felt first-hand the dynamism in which the world moves based on individual ideas, and decided to start my own business.

Returned to Japan in 2006. While touring universities and other institutions in search of seeds for new technology, an acquaintance introduced him to Yasunori Tsukahara, CSO (Chief Scientific Officer, 52), who later became co-founder. A microwave researcher at Osaka University, he wanted to share his research with society. They hit it off right away, and in the summer of 2007, they launched a company in their apartment in Kyoto.
