The Russian Ambassador to Canada accused Ottawa of anti-Russian policies

The Canadian government remains hostile towards Russia. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador in Ottawa Oleg Stepanov in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that the government of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney demonstrates a “strong anti-Russian charge,” which does not meet the country’s national interests and does not contribute to strengthening its security.

“As under [former Canadian Prime Minister] Justin Trudeau, Russia is being portrayed as an enemy. The establishment’s rhetoric is very confrontational,” the diplomat said.

He added that Russia has repeatedly emphasized the short-sightedness of political aggression against it.
