Sobyanin called Moscow the country's largest industrial hub

MOSCOW, August 14 - RIA Novosti. Moscow is the country's largest industrial hub, the products of which are in demand in most regions of Russia, said the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin.

“The products of Moscow industry are in demand in most regions of the country. The capital is the country’s largest industrial hub,” Sobyanin wrote in his channel on the Max platform.

The mayor emphasized that high-tech developments from scientific and technical centers, design bureaus and factories find customers in a variety of areas: education, healthcare, housing and communal services, transport and so on.

“So, ESCO Lighting Technologies produces high-quality lighting equipment for street, road, interior and administrative lighting. It is in demand throughout Russia,” he noted.

At the same time, according to the mayor, flexible polymer thermally insulated pipes of the Polimerteplo Group, a member of the Moscow Innovation Cluster (MIK), are used in the construction of heat supply networks. At the same time, every year the demand for them is growing among energy companies in the Far East and other regions of the country, as well as in the Arctic zone - in permafrost conditions.

“Another MIC participant, the Zelenograd plant Smart Systems, makes smart cards and RFID key fobs that allow you to recognize objects using radio signals. In 2025 and the first half of 2026, more than 50 regions purchased them - for social, school and transport projects,” Sobyanin said.

He also added that Spetskabel, a member of MIC, supplies cable and wire products to enterprises of Russian metallurgy, mechanical engineering and the energy sector, in particular, it is used at the Luchegorskaya State District Power Plant and Partizanskaya State District Power Plant-2 in Primorye and at the Chernogorskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
