King Salman directs that the Saudi Electronic University be named after Prince Musaed bin Abdul Rahman

On Friday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud directed that the Saudi Electronic University be named after the late Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, to be (Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University).

The Saudi King’s decision was based on what was submitted by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The decision comes in appreciation of the Saudi leadership for the great efforts and deeds provided by the late Prince Musaed bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud. As one of the statesmen who made notable and distinguished national contributions, according to what was reported by the Saudi “SPA” news agency.

For his part, Saudi Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan thanked King Salman and Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of the issuance of the decision.

The minister stressed that the decision embodies the generous care given to the education system in the Kingdom, and the continued interest in strengthening the role of educational institutions in building humanity, in addition to consolidating pride in the nation’s history and its national symbols, according to SPA.

The Saudi Minister of Education indicated that naming the university after Prince Musaed bin Abdul Rahman represents an appreciation for his national contributions, and a documentation of the legacy of one of the statesmen whose career was linked to important stages in the journey of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the development of its institutions.

The President of Prince Musaed bin Abdul Rahman University, Dr. Muhammad bin Yahya Mardi, also extended thanks and gratitude to King Salman and the Saudi Crown Prince, and stressed that naming the university after Prince Musaed bin Abdul Rahman carries a national and cognitive value, and embodies the leadership’s appreciation for his contributions to serving the nation, pointing out that his known interest in science, culture, and knowledge is consistent with the university’s mission and its role in building capabilities and expanding learning opportunities.
