Zelensky's adviser predicted a difficult winter in Ukraine due to attacks on the energy sector

MOSCOW, September 4 – RIA Novosti. The coming winter in Ukraine will be difficult due to expected impacts on the energy infrastructure, said Zelensky’s adviser Sergei Beskrestnov.

“The Russians will attack the energy sector. <…> and this year will not be an exception,” Strana.ua quotes him as saying.

According to him, the biggest concern is Russian ballistic missiles.

Beskrestnov also advised Ukrainians to buy generators, batteries and stock up on gasoline before winter.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergei Koretsky said in July that the country's next winter could be more difficult than the previous one. Ukrainian energy expert Stanislav Ignatiev warned at the end of July that the energy system could not cope with the load.

On Tuesday, President Vladimir Putin commented on Ukraine's attempts to launch massive attacks on energy facilities in Russia, saying that a reaction to Kyiv's steps will follow. He added that the Armed Forces have been instructed to carry out large-scale retaliatory strikes on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
