The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency visited Rishengsheng Taoyuan North District Recycled Water Plant to exchange experiences on water resource recycling

[Reporter Chen Yongji/Taipei Report] The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today (17th) visited the "Taoyuan North District Water Recycling Center Recycling Water Plant" built by Riding Water and Baoding Recycling Water under Rishengsheng (2547). It gained an in-depth understanding of Taiwan's practical experience in public sewage treatment, recycled water manufacturing, industrial water supply and water resource recycling, and witnessed Taoyuan's development from "sewage treatment" to "water resources regeneration".

Ri Shengsheng said that the visit, which was attended by officials from the Executive Yuan’s Ministry of Environment and the Taoyuan City Water Bureau, accompanied by senior engineering research officers from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, focused on how public sewage can be further converted into stable recycled water after treatment, and how recycled water can support industrial development and reduce reliance on traditional water sources, as well as the application of smart water services, AI analysis and real-time prediction.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's on-site visit to the Taobei Recycled Water Plant not only learned about Taiwan's practical experience in sewage treatment and recycled water utilization, but also provided a platform for exchanges between Taiwan and the United States on issues such as water resources recycling, recycled water technology, smart water, climate resilience, and sustainable governance.

Riding Water, a subsidiary of Rishengsheng, participated in the construction and operation of the public sewage system in Taoyuan North District. The first phase of the sewage plant was officially put into operation in 2016, and the second phase of the sewage plant was officially put into operation in 2020. It continues to promote sewage takeover services and is moving towards the service goal of 250,000 takeover households throughout the period.

The Taobei Reclaimed Water Plant currently supplies a stable supply of 40,000 CMD (40,000 tons per day) of reclaimed water. The planned water supply volume for the entire period is 112,000 CMD. The water supply volume of 40,000 CMD, 40,000 CMD and 32,000 CMD will be allocated in stages. It is planned to gradually expand the water supply capacity in conjunction with Taoyuan industrial development, aviation city and other major constructions. In the future, an important industrial recycled water supply system will be formed in North Taoyuan, adding a stable second water source system to Taoyuan.
