Hazte Oír and Manos Cleans expand judicial actions after clarifications from the Badajoz Court

The order published yesterday by the Provincial Court of Badajoz to clarify, at the request of the defenses and the accusations, some of the parts of the sentence issued in the case of the creation of the position of Coordinator of Musical Activities of the Conservatories of the Provincial Council of Badajoz - which ended with a conviction for administrative prevarication for the eleven defendants, including that of the brother of the President of the Government, David Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, has once again reopened the judicial strategies of the parties in person.

Thus, this Thursday, the Hazte Oír association announced that it has filed a new complaint against the two main people involved, both David 'Azagra' himself and Miguel Ángel Gallardo, former president of the provincial institution and former secretary general of the socialists. Against the first, he asks to extend the sentence to six years in prison and to four against the former socialist leader.

The focus is now on the creation, participation and awarding of the position of Luis María Carrero, collaborator of David Sánchez, in the Performing Arts Office and who was previously working as an advisor in the Moncloa Message Unit until he officially joined the Badajoz Provincial Council in 2024, although previously, according to the emails intercepted by the UCO, he was already doing it for David Sánchez himself from Moncloa. Both were friends and in the messages, Carrero addressed the brother of the President of the Government as "dear little brother." The criminal responsibility of Azagra himself and Gallardo were left out of the sentence in both cases and now Hazte Oír considers that yesterday's clarifications from the Provincial Court "expressly reserves the possibility of taking action for the accusations." The former president of the Provincial Council was sentenced to 18 years of disqualification for the irregular hiring of David Sánchez and also for the random change of position of the brother of the President of the Government to Head of the Performing Arts Office.

The complaint focuses on the creation of a plaza that, according to the ruling, lacked functions and was intended for Carrero to assist Pedro Sánchez's brother in his operatic projects. In addition, Hazte Oír appeals the sentence to claim convictions for influence peddling in competition with prevarication, as well as the return of the salaries received by David Sánchez and Carrero, which also yesterday the Badajoz Provincial Council confirmed that it will not be claimed. In addition, Clean Hands - which was the one that filed the initial complaint with which the whole case began - has confirmed that it is going to file a complaint against Miguel Ángel Gallardo also for the 'plug' of David Sánchez's friend. In fact, Luis Carrero has also been sentenced for prevarication to 9 years of disqualification.
