On September 10, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office announced that a mass poisoning of students had occurred in the Kanevsky district of Kuban. The department conducted an investigation into the incident. The regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case regarding the provision of services of inadequate quality. The regional Rospotrebnadzor office informed about the registration of cases of acute intestinal infection at the school.

“There have been no cases of mass poisoning among students of the 6th school. According to research using the PCR method, all minors were diagnosed with norovirus - one of the most common intestinal infections transmitted through household contact,” the administration said in a statement.

According to the press service, the risk of spreading the infection is low. The condition of schoolchildren undergoing outpatient treatment is assessed as satisfactory.

It is clarified that the school was disinfected. The source of the infectious disease has been localized. Classes at school continue as usual.
