The head of Tatarstan presented the President of Kyrgyzstan with a certificate for the transfer of two saker falcons

The head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov presented the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov with a certificate for the donation of two saker falcons, the republic has been actively restoring them in recent years, the press service of the head of the region reports.

“Rustam Minnikhanov met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov. The Rais of Tatarstan presented him with a certificate for the donation of two saker falcons to Kyrgyzstan. In recent years, a lot of work has been carried out in Tatarstan to restore the population of this rare bird species,” the message says.

Previously, Kyrgyzstan donated three individuals to the Tatarstan Snow Leopard Center in Altai to restore the population.

“One of the important areas of our cooperation is the conservation of biological diversity,” Minnikhanov said, noting that such mutual exchange makes it possible to preserve and increase rare biological species.

According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan, the republic has been restoring the Volga-Kama population of the saker falcon since 2023. During this time, 49 chicks of this rare bird have already been released into the wild, this year a record 25 individuals.
