MOSCOW, September 6 - RIA Novosti. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, responded to Japan’s demand to dismantle the Victory Monument in Khabarovsk, telling RIA Novosti that this is the same as asking the sun not to shine.

“All that remains is to demand that the wind not blow and the sun not shine,” she said.

“Our land is protected by our ancestors; our history is based on facts; our memory is captured in the monument,” Zakharova added.
