Typhoon No. 8 becomes an extratropical cyclone, and Typhoon No. 7 approaches the Kanto region. Beware of heavy rain and high waves.

Typhoon No. 8 gained speed on the morning of the 27th, passing the coast of the Boso Peninsula, and turned into an extratropical cyclone off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at 9 a.m. Meanwhile, No. 7 is expected to proceed east-northeast off the Tokai coast in the afternoon of the same day and approach the Kanto region in the evening. The rainy season front extended to the Kanto and Tokai regions, and the wind and rain became stronger. The Japan Meteorological Agency warned of heavy rain and high waves, and urged people to be careful of strong winds. 7 is expected to turn into an extratropical cyclone over the eastern seaboard of the Kanto region in the early hours of the 28th.

According to JR East, some sections of the Sobu Line, Uchibo Line, and Sotobo Line have been suspended for the entire day.

A level 4 landslide warning has been issued for Tateyama City in Chiba Prefecture, Miura City in Kanagawa Prefecture, and Shimoda City in Shizuoka Prefecture.

In Izu Oshima (Oshima Town), Tokyo, a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 29.3 meters was observed at around 4:35 a.m. on the 27th, and in Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture, a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 29.1 meters was observed at around 5:45 a.m. In Sakahata, Kimitsu City, the same prefecture, 163.0 millimeters of rain fell in the 12 hours ending at 3:40 p.m., setting a new record for the highest amount of rainfall for June in this area.

At 3:00 p.m., No. 7 headed east-northeast at a speed of 55 km/h over the ocean approximately 240 km southwest of Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The central pressure was 994 hectopascals, the maximum wind speed was 20 m/s, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed was 30 m/s. Strong winds with wind speeds of 15 meters or more are expected to occur within 330 km on the southeast side and within 165 km on the northwest side.
