Jiayou Good Trail debuts, thousands of mountain friends gather for autumn hiking

The 2026 "Jiayi Good Trails - Autumn Tour to Jiaxiang" hiking debuted at the Dinghu Natural Ecological Park early this morning. Thousands of mountain enthusiasts from all over Taiwan felt the charm of Chiayi's autumn mountains and forests with their feet. County Mayor Weng Zhangliang joined hands with weather anchor Wang Shuli, who has served as the event ambassador for three consecutive years, to lead a warm-up dance and fired a gun to start the run. Wang Shuli said that the temperature in Alishan in autumn is comfortable and the tea garden trails are beautiful. She is happy to see more and more friends falling in love with the mountains and forests.

Weng Zhangliang said that the county government has actively integrated trails, scenic spots and local industries, gradually building a trail brand with Chiayi characteristics, and driving the development of local industries and tourism. It has received an enthusiastic response. Many friends from other counties and cities come to Chiayi for a walk. The oldest baby is 84 years old and the youngest is 10 months old. They also go on autumn outings together. Everyone is welcome to walk in the mountains and taste the unique flavor of Alishan coffee.

The Culture and Tourism Bureau pointed out that this year's "Jiayu Good Trail" connects the Dinghu Trail in Leye Village, Alishan Township and the Shicha Trail Group in Zhonghe Village, Zhuqi Township. It plans a 4-kilometer parent-child group, a 7-kilometer hiking group, and a 10.5-kilometer challenge group. It provides people of different ages and physical abilities with diverse choices. Tea gardens, mountain forests, and clouds are intertwined along the way, showing the unique mountain scenery of Alishan.

This year’s event also planned a special market, gathering tea, coffee, rice cakes, donuts and other special delicacies. The event also held an online lottery for the "Entering Chiayi County" Chiayi County Trail Book, as well as a "Chiayi County Family Travel Passport" promotion event to encourage people to extend their travel itinerary after completing the hike, visit surrounding attractions, experience local characteristics, and explore Chiayi in depth.
