The first seminar on national implementation of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) was held in Moscow.

The seminar participants exchanged assessments of biological threats and discussed the possible application of artificial intelligence technologies and advances in synthetic biology.

Russia has not received official answers from either the United States or Ukraine to questions asked on the topic of biological laboratories.

MOSCOW, September 24 - RIA Novosti. In Moscow, at the first seminar on national implementation of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC), participants exchanged assessments of biological threats, as well as the possible use of artificial intelligence technologies and advances in synthetic biology, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

“The participants exchanged assessments of biological threats, as well as the possible use of artificial intelligence technologies and the achievements of synthetic biology,” the Russian diplomatic department said in a statement.

The seminar, organized by the Russian Foreign Ministry under the auspices of the BTWC, was held on September 23-24, and was attended by delegations from the CIS countries, as well as specialized international and regional organizations, the department specified.

On Thursday, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov, who took part in the seminar, told reporters that Russia had not received official answers from either the United States or Ukraine to dozens of questions asked on the topic of biolaboratories; no substantive comments had been received.
