Ukrainian Ministry of Defense: Russian military casualties reached nearly 43,000 in July, a new high in more than a year

(Central News Agency, Moscow, 16th Comprehensive Foreign News Report) As Ukraine and Russia have been at war for more than four years, statistics from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense show that the number of casualties of the Russian army in July was close to 43,000, setting a new high in a single month in more than a year.

The New York Post reported that the number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded on the battlefield in July reached 42,860, marking the highest number in a single month since January 2025 and the fourth highest number in a single month since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.

With the total number of Russian military casualties reportedly approaching 1.5 million and Russian President Vladimir Putin's recruitment of troops becoming increasingly difficult, some experts believe that Putin may soon be forced to initiate peace talks if there is a shortage of troops.

Putin has become increasingly eager to recruit soldiers in the past few months, including using false promises such as "secure service" to attract Russian people to join the war, and even recruiting Africans in similar ways.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently stated that approximately 30,000 to 50,000 North Korean soldiers are preparing to be sent to Russia.

The report also pointed out that Ukraine has made the most progress in regaining territory in more than a year.
