MOSCOW, September 10 - RIA Novosti. Searches in the case of theft in the supply of stewed meat to the Northern Military District were carried out by employees of Narmyasprom and Selyatino, who were in the status of witnesses, a source familiar with the investigation told RIA Novosti.

A criminal case into the theft of 700 million rubles from the supply of stewed meat to the Northern Military District and in the zone of counter-terrorism operations was opened in May. According to investigators, the defendants, including the former head of the department of resource support of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Viktor Tarazevich, reduced the cost of the stew due to cheaper ingredients.

“Witnesses from among the employees of the enterprises were questioned in the case, their houses were searched,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

In addition to the colonel, the general director of Narmyasprom LLC, Alexey Baranov, the commercial director of this company, Dmitry Vislobokov, and businessman Dmitry Mizgir were arrested in the case. Two more - the general director of MPK Selyatino LLC Artem Baryshkov and the company's technologist Zinaida Grischuk - are wanted, both were arrested in absentia.
