A woman discovered her husband's years-long deception through a forgotten wallet and an old phone.

A Reddit user with the nickname Colorful-Mama told how she accidentally caught her husband in a long-term deception. He, as it turned out, had been lying to her for years.

“I couldn't find my card and my husband left his wallet at home, so I opened it to get cash. But inside I also found a piece of paper with a woman’s phone number. After several hours of agonizing thought, I looked into his old phone, which we had not yet reset to factory settings. I expected to find flirting messages there, but I found something worse. My husband, as far as I can tell, has created several alternate realities for himself with at least four other women,” the author wrote.

One of them, as it turned out, lives in a neighboring state, and her unfaithful husband has been dating her longer than he has known his wife. This lover believes they are in a long-distance monogamous relationship, and he is a welder from out of town. The narrator’s husband dated two other women for more than a year, and one for a couple of months. The last three girls knew about the man's married status, but not about each other. They believed that the cheater was living in an open marriage.

“Just terrible. Years of deception. There are more lies than truths. I will definitely divorce him - the documents are almost completed,” the woman concluded.
