BERLIN, Oct 11 - RIA Novosti. All documents, operational archives, as well as several thousand ready-made passports of Russians from the Consulate General in Bonn have already been transported to Berlin, Svetlana Enikeeva, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Berlin, told RIA Novosti.
In September, German authorities closed the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and terminated the agreement concerning the activities of the Russian House in Berlin. The Russian Foreign Ministry in response announced measures to counter the unfriendly actions of Germany - the work of the Goethe cultural centers, as well as the German Consulate General in St. Petersburg, was stopped.
“All documents, operational archives, as well as several thousand ready-made passports have already been moved from Bonn to Berlin. After connecting the necessary technical equipment, we continued processing the documentation,” Enikeeva noted.
She clarified that the issuance of ready-made passports is carried out at the consular department by appointment during business hours, the waiting period in the electronic queue is 2-3 weeks.
“In addition, the employees of the consular department, understanding the complexity of the current situation, decided to go to work 2-3 times a month on Saturdays to issue documents to applicants. Announcements are published on the embassy’s website,” added the head of the department. She also recalled that an additional opportunity is to obtain passports at a consular exit session.
