Demand for used electric cars and hybrids in Russia increased by 74.8% in the summer of 2026

In the summer of 2026, demand for used electric vehicles and hybrids increased by 74.8 percent compared to the same period last year, Avito Auto experts said. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, they noted that the average price of such a car was 3.9 million rubles.

According to the platform, over eight months, demand for such cars increased by 46.8 percent year-on-year, and over the summer growth accelerated to 74.8 percent. GAC showed the greatest increase among brands - its cars became 3.2 times more popular. The top 5 in terms of dynamics also included Changan, BYD, Tesla and Volkswagen. The segment is actively replenished with new brands and models, including Chinese ones.

“The market for electric vehicles and used hybrids is growing at an accelerated pace. In the secondary market, a stable core of models that are well known to customers has formed, but at the same time, the segment is developing dynamically and is gradually replenished with new brands,” said Andrey Tumkin, managing director of the Avtoteka product.

Among the federal districts, the most noticeable increase in demand was recorded in the Southern, Volga and Northwestern. In some regions, the dynamics are even higher: in the Kaluga region, demand increased by 181.1 percent, in the Ryazan region - by 158.8 percent, in the Tver region - by 150.6 percent. As a result of the summer, some models became more affordable - in particular, prices for BYD Seagull, Honda Civic and Honda Fit decreased, experts said.
