Bahrain's Foreign Ministry said the country would not take part in the meeting in Oman due to Tehran's participation.

ISTANBUL, September 13 - RIA Novosti. A meeting between the foreign ministers of the Gulf countries and Iran on the issue of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been postponed indefinitely, Oman's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi said on Monday night.

It was previously reported that representatives of Iran, Iraq and a number of other Gulf countries were expected to attend the meeting.

“The regional meeting in Salalah, scheduled for Monday, has been postponed in the interests of consensus between countries. We remain committed to developing dialogue that supports stability and lasting cooperation in the region,” the minister wrote on social media X.

The meeting was scheduled to take place in the Omani city of Salalah on Monday to discuss a deal to temporarily manage shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the Financial Times reported. According to the publication, Oman initiated the meeting.

Bahrain's Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that the country would not attend the meeting in Oman due to Tehran's participation.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began striking targets in Iran, to which the Iranian side responded with its own strikes. In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to cease hostilities, but later exchanged blows again. At the moment, the conflict remains unresolved.
