Media reports revealed that Jurgen Klopp, coach of the German national team, decided to call up veteran striker Niklas Volkrug after his brilliance with his team, Werder Bremen, when he announced on Thursday the list that will play in the European Nations League matches.

Bild newspaper reported that Volkrug will be on Germany's roster to play the matches between Serbia and the Netherlands on November 13 and 16.

For its part, Sky Network indicated, on Wednesday, that Volkrug has secured his place on the list, unless something exceptional happens.

Niklas Volkrug scored 12 goals in 10 matches for Werder Bremen since joining the German team in August.

Klopp had decided to exclude Volkrug from the first lists he chose for the German national team due to the age factor.

But it seems that the German national team coach is now convinced of Volkrug's level, and will give him the opportunity to rejoin the national team for the first time since September 2025.

Volkrug, the former Dortmund, Milan and West Ham striker, participated in 24 international matches for Germany, during which he scored 14 goals.

On the other hand, Deniz Undav, the Stuttgart striker who also left Klopp's accounts in September and October, said that he also does not expect to be called up to his country's national team roster despite his recent brilliance.
