Security camera footage shows the moment a white BYD, driven by a woman, disregards the right of way and crashes into the motorcycle. Afterwards, Paulo is thrown over the car and falls onto the sidewalk (see above).

The motorcyclist received care from rescue teams at the scene and was taken to the Cuiabá Municipal Hospital (HMC), where he is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). According to family information, he had fractures in three points on one of his legs and internal injuries. The clinical condition is considered serious, and doctors assess the need for amputation.

The driver of the car has not had her identity released. The case will be investigated by the Specialized Traffic Offenses Police Station (Deletran).

On social media, relatives and friends mobilized a campaign to get blood donors. Donors of types B negative (B-) and O negative (O-) are required. Donations must be made at the Hemocentro, indicating the name Paulo Batista de Souza.
