Man who beat his partner in the middle of the street in Paraná committed attempted feminicide, investigation concludes

Pedro Alves de Oliveira, 33 years old, was indicted for the crimes of qualified damage, threat against women and attempted feminicide. Delegate Luis Guilherme Almeida Cerqueira, from the Civil Police (PC-PR), reported having concluded the investigation investigating the case this Tuesday (3).

The man has been in preventive detention since October 27, two days after being filmed beating his partner in the middle of the street, in Joaquim Távora, in the North of Paraná. Sought by g1, Pedro's defense did not speak out until the publication of this report.

In the images, the man appears kicking and dragging the woman's body along the street, while she screams for help. The investigation showed that the attacks began at the couple's home, which is in the process of separating, after an argument.

"It's a couple who always had a lot of fights and always a lot of arguments. There was always this whole cycle of violence. This cycle, in the investigation, was demonstrated. Unfortunately, it is something that occurs a lot throughout the country," said Cerqueira.

The police say that Pedro threatened his wife with death and destroyed objects in the house, in addition to attacking her.
