The number of wounded American troops in the conflict with Iran has reached 757

The total number of US military personnel injured during the escalation of the conflict with Iran has increased to 757, RIA Novosti found out after analyzing the latest Pentagon reports.

Based on internal statistics from the US military as of August 19, 418 soldiers were injured during Operation Epic Fury, the end of which the administration of US President Donald Trump announced on May 5.

Another 339 people have been wounded since July 7, when the United States carried out a new series of strikes on Iran. Thus, the total number of wounded reached 757.

At the same time, the number of dead American military personnel still remains at 18: 14 military personnel died during Operation Epic Fury and four more since July 7, according to Pentagon data.

On the night of June 18, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum that envisages the end of the conflict that began on February 28. However, the US military carried out several series of strikes against Iran in July. US Central Command claimed that this was done in response to Iranian actions against commercial ships that were crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran responded with strikes on US bases in a number of Middle Eastern countries, closed the Strait of Hormuz, and also accused Washington of violating the memorandum on the cessation of hostilities.
