Jeongeup City, Jeollabuk-do, announces payment of public interest allowance to farmers before Chuseok

Jeongeup City, Jeollabuk-do, announced on the 11th that it will pay farmer public welfare allowances before Chuseok to farmers exhausted by rising prices and heat waves.

The city will confirm recipients of the Agricultural and Rural Public Value Support Project (farmer public benefit allowance) this month and pay them with Jeongeup Love Gift Certificates before Chuseok.

The recipients of the payment are agricultural businesses that completed their application through the town, village, or neighborhood administrative welfare center between March and June.

The support amount is 600,000 won for a one-person business, and 300,000 won is calculated and paid per member for a business with two or more people.

If a couple registers a separate agricultural business, the amount is 300,000 won each.

Existing recipients will automatically have their card or mobile phone gift certificate recharged, and new recipients can receive it after registering as a member.

After paying the allowance, the city plans to check whether obligations are fulfilled, such as appropriate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, self-disposal of agricultural waste, and maintenance of beekeeping.

Farmers who do not meet the standards will be subject to disadvantages such as refund measures.

Mayor Lee Hak-soo said, “I hope that the public interest allowance will be a real help to the families of farmers ahead of Chuseok,” and added, “We will do our best to create a sustainable agricultural environment and improve the quality of life of farmers.”
