Monk Myeongjin, head priest of Bongeunsa Temple (76 years old, 52 years old) passed away on the 22nd after a freediving accident off the coast of Seogwipo, Jeju Island. The Coast Guard estimates that the accident occurred during freediving practice, as the monk was wearing freediving equipment at the time of the rescue.
