China News Service, Sydney, September 25th: The Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne recently held a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In his speech, Fang Xinwen, Consul General of China in Melbourne, introduced China's achievements in the fields of economy, people's livelihood, green, innovation and other fields and the good start of the "15th Five-Year Plan", and explained the connotation of a community with a shared future for mankind and the four major global initiatives. Fang Xinwen said that the essence of China-Australia relations is mutual benefit and win-win, and the Consulate General will further promote exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in all fields to push the consular district's relations with China to a new level.

Williams, the governor's representative and deputy governor of Victoria, Australia, said in his speech that China is one of Victoria's most important partners and Victoria plays an important role in the development of Australia-China relations. Victoria will continue to enhance mutual understanding and deepen practical cooperation with China in the fields of economy, trade, education, tourism and other fields to create a more prosperous future.

Australian Federal Member of Parliament Huang Jiabo, Victoria's Leader of the Opposition and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Southwick and other guest speakers emphasized the importance of Australia-China relations and Victoria's cooperation with China, and spoke highly of the contribution of the Chinese community to promoting Australia's economic and social development. Melbourne Mayor Rees sent a video message to express his congratulations.
