The Polish Foreign Minister invited NATO to strengthen exercises near the borders of Russia

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has proposed that NATO conduct more intensive military exercises near the Kaliningrad region of Russia.

Sikorsky explained that the exercises should be unpredictable for Russia, so that it would have to transfer additional forces to the borders.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the authorities in Moscow remain open to dialogue with NATO on an equal basis, while the West must abandon the course of militarizing the continent.

According to the publication, Sikorsky stated this during his speech at the annual forum in Kyiv on September 11.

“Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski believes that NATO should strengthen military exercises near the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation,” the statement says.

Sikorsky also pointed out that Poland is closely monitoring the Russian region. As European Pravda reports, answering a clarifying question, the minister explained that he meant holding exercises near the borders of the Russian Federation in such a way that it would have to transfer additional forces there due to the unpredictability of the alliance.

In recent years, Russia has seen unprecedented NATO activity along its western borders. The alliance is expanding initiatives and calling it "containment of Russian aggression." Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the buildup of alliance forces in Europe.
