On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a large number of oysters died in Yunlin County. Legislators Liu Jianguo, Zhang Jiajun and Ding Xuezhong held a meeting yesterday. The Ministry of Agriculture announced this evening that due to the heavy rain in late August, all oyster farming projects in Kouhu Township, Yunlin County were classified as agricultural natural disaster cash relief areas.

The Yunlin County Government pointed out in the evening that Kouhu oyster farming has suffered losses caused by heavy rains and has announced cash assistance for agricultural natural disasters. Fishermen in Kouhu Township with a loss rate of more than 20% are requested to apply at the Kouhu Township Office from September 14 to September 29 in accordance with regulations.

The county government pointed out that the amount of assistance is based on the "Agricultural Natural Disaster Cash Relief Project and Amount" and the "Agricultural Natural Disaster Low-interest Loan Project". If the loss rate is more than 20%, the assistance will be based on regulations: 87,500 yuan per hectare for the flat-mounted type; 12,000 yuan per hectare for the grate type; 25,000 yuan per raft type shed; up to 15,000 yuan per group for the longline type; and 5,000 yuan per shed for the scaffolding type.
