The Presidential Office today announced the list of 29 nominations for the Supervisory Committee. Former New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Xie Zhengda, former Kuomintang legislator Liao Wanru and other blue-green figures were nominated.
Looking back at the current session of the National Assembly, Blue and White have used methods such as blocking, selective vetoing, and delaying review to "hunt" the personnel cases proposed by the Lai government ten times, covering the Attorney General, the Chief Justice, the NCC, the Central Election Commission, the Examination Committee, and the Public Security Bureau and Supervisors. Now, although the Lai government has shown goodwill to the opposition in the nomination, it remains to be seen whether Blue and White will foot the bill, or whether it will "selectively" approve specific candidates in the personnel case of the Central Election Commission.
Looking back, Blue and White blocked personnel cases proposed by the Lai government in the current Congress, including two waves of lists of justices proposed by President Lai Ching-te, which were blocked by Blue and White in December 2024 and July 2025 respectively; furthermore, the National Communications Commission (NC) was nominated by the Political Yuan in April 2024. C) The committee personnel cases were first delayed by Blue and White, and then blocked again in November 2025 for the second wave of new personnel cases proposed by the Political Yuan. In addition, Blue and White jointly blocked the personnel consent case of Xu Xixiang, the nominee for Attorney General, proposed by President Lai Qingde at the Legislative Yuan in March this year.
In addition to a comprehensive ban, Blue and White also "selectively" approved personnel cases recommended by the opposition parties on several occasions. In December 2024, the Kuomintang group rejected Ke Liling, the candidate for examination committee, because her husband had served as the Minister of Education and the Minister of the Interior. In March this year, during the vote on personnel matters at the Central Election Commission, Blue and White also rejected three nominees recommended by the DPP, and all three nominees recommended by the opposition parties passed.
In the personnel case for public television directors, representatives of the Blue and White Review Committee first passed the 14-person list at the review meeting in December 2025. However, when the Political Yuan proposed the second list of candidates for directors and supervisors this year, including former professional baseball player Peng Zhengmin and others, the Blue and White Review Committee collectively resigned on the eve of the review meeting, causing the personnel case to be delayed again.
Now, as for the members of the Central Election Committee, the Lai government has supplemented the nomination of three nominees for the Central Election Committee members that the Legislative Yuan rejected in March, including former Executive Yuan counselor Shen Shufei, lawyer Cai Weizhe, and Minister of Justice Huang Mouxin. The Legislative Yuan has recently launched a review.
In view of the fact that the term of the 6th Supervisory Committee will expire on July 31 this year, the Presidential Office also announced today the nomination list of 29 members of the 7th Supervisory Committee. Chen Yongxing and Wang Rongzhang will serve as the president and deputy presidents. In addition to the nominations of two blue-green individuals such as former New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Xie Zhengda and former Kuomintang legislator Liao Wanru, several cross-field professionals who do not belong to a specific political party have been nominated.
