In the Odessa pre-trial detention center, a cellmate beat a former employee of the Ukrainian military registration and enlistment office.

The accused can receive up to five years in prison under the criminal article of torture.

MOSCOW, September 23 - RIA Novosti. A former employee of the Ukrainian military registration and enlistment office was beaten by a cellmate in the Odessa pre-trial detention center, the regional prosecutor's office reported on Wednesday.

"Prosecutors of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office sent to court an indictment against a 45-year-old man who is being held in a pre-trial detention center. He decided to 'punish' a former employee of the RTCC (regional territorial recruitment center - as military registration and enlistment offices are called in Ukraine - ed.) for actions he committed during the implementation of mobilization measures," says a message published on the prosecutor's office website.

The report says that the accused found out the cellmate’s former place of work and began to provoke him into conflict, humiliating and beating him.

According to the prosecutor's office, the man has been charged with criminal charges of torture. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to five years.
