Ukrainian President Zelenskiy dismisses Prosecutor General Kravchenko

On the 14th, President Zelenskiy of Ukraine announced on social media that he would dismiss Prosecutor General Kravchenko. Earlier this month, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and other organizations searched for connections of Kravchenko and other senior prosecutors in connection with corruption cases, and detained Kravchenko's subordinates. He denied any involvement and announced his resignation.

According to local media, Kravchenko's subordinates allegedly received bribes from the fraud organization in return for their cooperation. It is said that this subordinate had a close relationship with him, including arranging renovation work for his home.

On the 7th, Kravchenko denied any involvement in the incident and announced his resignation, saying, ``I do not want my position as prosecutor general to be used as a tool for political conflict.'' Meanwhile, on the 14th, he revealed that he had left Ukraine, and claimed that he had begun criminal prosecution proceedings against NABU Director Krivonos, who led the investigation, on charges including ``falsification of documents to obtain unfair advantage.''
